Good Luck and Happy Stitching!
The title says it all. Thread, specifically cross stitching, is my therapy in life. It's my passion that gets me through my days.

I have a first!! actually, two!

OHMYGAWD!! What was I so afraid of??? Took me a couple of times to get it, but when I did....look!! I know it's nothing big, but for me it's a great acomplishment!! Now I can scratch this off my stitchy to do list. :)
My second first is a little free blackwork project from Wyrdbyrd's Nest which can be found Here. It's not anything big to some of you (who I have seen do beautiful blackwork projects,) but to me, this is huge!
I've always wanted to do Save the Stitches by Elizabeth Almond, which can be found Here, but would never try it because it looked so scary. I found this little pattern in my stash and decided to give it a go!

Oohh, too tight?
Have you ever had that pattern that just spoke to you? Well, this pattern spoke to me. Absolutely had to have it! And I'm not sure why because I usually don't go for "themed" projects. I love them, I just couldn't be bothered putting them away once the "season" for it has past.
Anyway, It's a Sue Hillis design I ordered from 123stitch. I've started it on blue and white sky from.... dmc... I think? The colours are not showing up in the picture. Its a pretty blue and white mottled color. It was $5.39, we will talk more about that in next months SFS report!
This was last nights progress.
Happy stitching!

January SFS2015-A
My first month of posting! I'm sooo excited! Ok, here goes....

Next is just a little pattern called Take Time....but it's a finish! I started this one last year sometime... and if you follow my turtle trot post, you will see how much I've done. There was only a little bit of the blue water done when I picked it up again.

STITCH FROM STASH: Nothing. I'm still working on 10 pieces from the turtle trot. I'm hoping to have another finish for February month, then I'll replace the finish with a stash pattern. We shall see.
Anyway, so far for January I've worked on:
1. Dockside quilt
2. Take time finished
3. Mirabilia Red
4. Mirabilia Winter Queen
5.Whole Lotta Latte
6. Butterfly girl
7. Converted pic to pattern of my cat
8. Rocky Point
9. View from a window
10 .Wedding Dress finished
10.Purple Blue Green Butterfly (replaced the wedding dress lady)
You can see all these patterns in my January Turtle Trot post.
BUDGET CARRIED INTO FEB: $18.00 for a total of $43.00 (because Canada's currency stinks and $30 equals $25 US)
I'm so excited!!!
Happy Stitching!
MONTH: January
SPENT: $12.00- I ordered the Hope, Dream, Imagine, and Believe chartpack from the talented Ms. Joan Elliott. I want to do it as a set to go with the purple green blue butterfly. My plan is to replace Joan's colors to match the ones in the butterfly pattern.
EARNED: Nothing. The 2 projects that I completed were started in 2014, so I don't think they count anyway. (I'm not sure because I don't really understand the "earned" part yet...if someone could explain I would greatly appreciate it!)
But!!!! I have had 2, that's right.... Two finishes since January 1st!! I finished them through the turtle trot challenge. I guess I can include them in the SFS ... Someone will have to let me know if I can't.

First up is a wedding dress pattern I bought from Etsy. This one was started last year and I only had a little bit to finish on the bottom of her dress.

January Turtle Trot 2015
January's ten projects for turtle trot 2015:
A whole lotta latte. I did some of the pink border and finished most of the middle cup.
Before:
After:
Mirabilia Winter queen, pink conversion. I worked on the bottom left side of her dress.
Before:
After:
A picture of my cat Harley. I used pic2pat online to convert the picture to a pattern. Still not sure of the colors yet. I am really hoping it's going to turn out like the picture. I worked a little on the top border.
Before:
After:
A view from the window. Most of the work on this was done trying to find where I went wrong and fixing a mistake I made in the flowers. I did manage to get a little stitched on the leaves on the left side, and a little in the middle.
Before:
After:
Take time. I stitched a bit of the sand.
Before:
After:
Dock side quilts. I finished the last quilt and did the little window under it.
Before:
After:
Wedding dress. Which is a FINISH! Yayyy!!! I actually spent half an hour trying to match up the pink thread in order to finish it. It was finished on January 1st. My first finish for 2015! In all honesty there was only about 2 hours worth of stitching left on her anyway .... Oh only I had known that! lol
Before:
After:
I added a few beads to her hair for a bit of bling. I don't like the black silhouette anymore. If I had my time back I would've picked a different color. And I think with the bead placement on her chest....to me she looks like she has a deformed breast. I might have to fix that!
So because that one is completed... I'm not sure if I'm supposed to continue working on the nine I have left or add another project in to keep it at ten. I don't know how the rules work. If someone could let me know that would be much appreciated.
In any case, if you can remember in my first TT post I said I only had 12 WIPS so I picked another one to add.
This one I stopped because I wasn't sure if I liked the color fabric with the floss color. But looking at it with fresh eyes made me just love it! It's called purple blue green butterfly and I bought it online from Artecy.
Here's the before:
After:
Butterfly girl. I did a little on the side of her face/hair. Haven't found the mistake yet but I know it's there somewhere!
Before:
After:
Mirabilias Red. I didn't get as much done as I wanted. I filled in some of the brown on the bottom of her dress and a few black and white stitches here and there that needed filled in.
Before:
After:
Rocky Point. I only got about 60-65 stitches put in this. I just wasn't feelin' it.... Anyway, I'm hoping to get into it more next month.

Turtle trot 2015 list
Ok, so going through all my stitchy stuff I found that I actually have 12 WIP/UFOS. How cool is that! I figured it would've been A LOT more!
I'm still only going to pick out 10 for the turtle trot.
Here they are in no particular order:
Mirabila Red
Mirabilia Winter Queen conversion
Rocky Point
Wedding Dress (I think that's what it's called, I bought it off Etsy). She became a UFO because I ran out of thread and by the time I went to buy more, I forgot what color I used. So I first have to figure out the color before I finish the last little bit lol
A View from the Window. This turned into a UFO because I screwed up somewhere on the flowers. Rather than try and find it, I lost my patience and moved on.
Butterfly Girl. She became a UFO because I used to wrong color in her hair and instead of frogging it I moved on to something else. I was getting tired of all the grays anyway.

What have I gotten myself into?!
So for the past year, I have been browsing the internet for anything to do with cross stitch and I have come across many groups. Some are for SALS, some are for smalls, SFS, turtle trot...and that's just to name a few!
I have decided I would like to take part in at leasttwo three of them.
Here they are in no order:
-Stitch From Stash -2015A
-this will be done in two parts at 6 months each. You have a budget of $25.00 each month (or currency equivalent) to buy stash from. Whatever is not used in that month can be carried over into the next month. Check out Epic Stitching to read all the rules and how exciting this is going to be!
The next one sort of goes hand in hand with the stitch from stash.
-Turtle Trot 2015. The idea is to pick out ten projects and post your stitching status on them on the tenth of every month. So I will be forced to work my WIPs and possibly UFO's. Which in turn, keeps my stash down (at least that's the idea) You can check out all the info and sign up Here at BAP attacks' blog.
-And finally Cross Stitch Collection SAL. It features an Edwardian Garden Party, and if you sign up, they send you the pattern for free! You can also do 12 smalls, one for every month for 2015 or you can even do your own thing! It's their very first SAL It will be released in three parts, the first being released on Jan 01/15. Click Here for more info!
So there you have it! Again, I ask....what have I gotten into??!!
Happy Stitching!

Ask a stitcher
Seriously, if you have a problem or a question, ask a stitcher. If you're trying to track something down, ask a stitcher. If you've run out of a floss and just need a tiny piece to finish, ask a stitcher.
Stitchers are the most kindest, generous people I know! We all band together to help one another, and encourage one another, and even cheer each other on.
It warms my heart tremendously.
Nancy is one of those kind hearted people. Click here for Nancy's blog at Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe and check out the amazing give away she is having for the 25 days of Dec. Talk about generous!

Bye bye red
For now at least. I was starting to slow down on her and was thinking about starting something new to get away from all the red but then I scolded myself for not sticking to it. And then I found this:
Joan Elliott's Cinderella's set
Isn't this beautiful! I downloaded the digital copy of the magazine. It can be found in Cross Stitch Collection Christmas 2014.
I just knew I had to start it right away. So, I'm not seeing red anymore. At least not for a bit.
Here's my progress on the first part called Cinderella in rags
