I'm giving up on this one. I did about 6 stitches and got stuck.  I remember now why this became a UFO. See all the blue and green.... It all has to be frogged. .... Ugh. I don't have the patience to frog it.  I think I'm going to give up on this one and substitute something else in place of it.  I have one wip left (I only had 11 to begin with) and I'm unsure if a will add it in to my turtle trot or start something new.

Next up, Mirabilia winter queen before:

Rocky point. Never touched it. Lost my mojo every time I looked at it. Hopefully I can get some done next month.

Same with my picture of my cat. Never touched it.

Ok, so after this round of turtle trot I've realized that I'm extremely overwhelmed with all these projects.  I think it's because 1) my projects are HUGE... at least to me they are, and 2) I HATE having to change projects when I'm "in the groove."   For example..... when I was working on Red, I didn't want to put her down.  I could see the finish line!  Same thing while I was working on Whole Lotta Latte.  It's almost done!! And then I have to put it down and move on to something else...wah wah wahhh.

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that all of my WIPs are being worked on.  The concept of Turtle trot is awesome!  I just don't know what to do.  I don't want to give up on them.  But, I can't cut them down to 5 projects, because then I would feel like I'm making my own rules and I don't want to do that either.

Any suggestions from experienced stitcher's?  I would truly appreciate your feedback!

Happy Stitching!

  1. I think it's alright to work on one at a time (I only worked on one of my Turtle Trot pieces this month)
    I love your progress!

  2. You don't have to work on all 10 projects each month! I only worked on a few, and even Claudette our host didn't work on all 10. Stitching is supposed to fun and relaxing, so work on what you want. You put such great work into Red, and I think you could do that with any project you want any time. :) There's no shaming here, we're all out to encourage each other to get some done on our WIPs.

  4. Wonderful progress on all these really huge projects.
Why not make up your own rules? I do that all the time because it's my hobby and my main goal is to enjoy it to the fullest. So when I join a SAL and there is something in the rules that doesn't suit me I change that part. And in this SAL I have seen sticthers who just work on some of their projects during the month, not on all ten. I would say do as it pleases you and have fun.

  6. Congratulations on your finish and near finish. And well done on your other progress.
Please don't feel down about your stitching schedule. No SAL rules are set in stone so, as others have said, work on what you want when you want. Nobody will think less of you because you have concentrated on one TT piece rather than stitched on all 10. It's your hobby and you must do what makes you happy. Everybody will encourage you along no matter what. I hope that helps. :)

  7. Wow, you sure did get a lot done! Congrats on all the wonderful progress. And I have a list of 10 turtle trot projects and I think there are several that I haven't worked on yet this year but I don't let that bother me. I don't think it bothers anyone else either. So just work on what you feel like working on.

  8. LOVE the colors changes on your Winter Queen. Never seen her stitched in pink!
As far as putting down a WIP for another. I usually work on them until I decide to put it down. No matter what the deadline is. Unless I have to finish a section, in a SAL, to get the next page.T hen I have to switch over, from a WIP that I would rather work on, to make sure I qualify for the next part.
    Absolutely beautiful WIP's you have!

  9. Wow that is a lot of progress! That would be mine for all year long!!!
You don't have to work on all 10 of your projects every month - I only did six this month and so did the host. Sometimes I only do one or two. Just work on what is making you happy :D :D :D
