March turtle trot

March! Eeek March already!
Anyway....on to my projects, I managed to work on 5 of them this month.

Dockside quilts before: (excuse the wrinkles)

After: all done!!
It's just about dry in this pic.  Still need to iron.

A whole lotta latte. FINISHED!  I decided not to stitch the words across the bottom. I rather like it without them.
Still needs to be ironed. I was so excited to get it finished! It's been a UFO/WIP for a year.
Before:

After!

Purple blue green butterfly before:

After:

Winter queen before: (the fabric is not dirty, it's silver lining from polstitches)

After: I filled in some white and the darker pink on the bottom of her dress.

Red before the beading and back stitching

After. DONE!

Happy stitching!

  1. What great finishes! Have you ever had any problem with getting out the washable pen or having your thread run? I really like that idea!

  2. The idea of gridding it... not the idea of the thread color running! ; )

    1. No problem at all! I wouldn't be without my pen. I grid EVERYTHING! It doesn't matter how big or small the project is. I let it soak in lukewarm water for a bit, then let it dry until just damp and then iron. I have heard of people having the pen "come back" but I have never experienced that.
I tried using thread to grid my work...but it takes so much longer! Using my pen is super fast!

  4. Wow! Three finishes and two progress pieces. You must be so proud of yourself and you deserve a massive pat on the back! I adore Latte, probably because of the bright colours, but the others aren't far behind. Latte looks fine without the writing - I think you were right to leave it off.
How are you going to celebrate your finishes? A new start maybe?!!! :)

    1. I'm thinking of a new start, but I am trying to force myself to finish off my wips through the TT. They have been "looming" over my head for too long now...I don't like the feeling lol Go Go stichcy willpower!!

  5. Stunning finishes! It's such an amazing feeling when one finishes a cross stitch project - well done! Can't wait to see what you start next:)

  6. What pen do you use for gridding, by the way? I stitch grids but it is quite time-consuming...

    1. I use one called Mark b gone. I bought it at Walmart for $2.99. It's double tipped. One end has an air soluable tip, and the other side is water soluable. I have about 5-6 in my stash at all times. In my opinion it works so much faster for me than using thread.
